Australian singer-songwriter Justin Davies makes a stirring first impression with his debut single, “Unforgettable Days,” set for release next month. The track, the first taste of his upcoming full-length album, blends heartfelt storytelling with lush, timeless melodies—music made to linger long after the song ends.
Recorded at Poons Head Studio with Grammy-nominated producer Rob Grant, “Unforgettable Days” features a lineup of Perth’s finest, including drummer Malcolm Clark and bassist Jay Cortez (both formerly of The Sleepy Jackson) alongside members of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Vintage analog equipment, once used on Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles classics, gives the track a warm, enduring sound.
“‘Unforgettable Days’ is about lost love, but also those moments in life that feel magical and eternal,” Davies says. “The afternoons in the sun, the quiet comfort of being with someone, the joy mixed with heartache—it all stays with you.”
Davies’ path to music was unexpected. A successful entrepreneur and philanthropist in Western Australia, he turned to songwriting after a long-buried loss resurfaced. A chance encounter with a guitar in 2023 sparked a creative journey that poured years of reflection, longing, and hope into song.
“Without the sadness and searching, I wouldn’t have found these songs,” he shares. “Unforgettable Days is simple, but it’s the most meaningful thing I’ve ever created.”
