Sometimes the weight we carry after a relationship lingers longer than we expect. Nashville-based singer-songwriter Andrew Mitch captures that emotional resonance with his new single, “baggage,” out February 27.

A cinematic country-folk ballad, “baggage” moves effortlessly between intimate, stripped-back moments and full-bodied orchestral swells, reflecting the highs and lows of heartbreak. Co-written with Jonathan Johnston, Eitan Snyder, and Drew Rizzuto, and produced by Mitch himself, the track blends heartfelt lyrics with dynamic instrumentation—including banjo and dobro from James Paul Mitchell—for a sound that’s as vulnerable as it is expansive.

“I wrote this song to embody what it really feels like in your chest—the heaviness that comes after a relationship ends,” Mitch explains. “There are ups, there are downs, and it’s a lot to hold. Hopefully it helps someone zone out and have a good cry. I know I did.”

Hailing from Steubenville, Ohio, Mitch made the bold move to leave a promising academic path in biochemistry behind to pursue music full-time in Nashville. His breakout single, “all in my head,” gained national attention in 2023, and since then he’s built a devoted fanbase through projects like “feeling outside the lines” and the deluxe record “still feeling outside the lines.”

With “baggage”, Mitch steps into a new chapter—embracing cinematic production, reflective storytelling, and a sound that resonates with anyone who’s carried the weight of love, loss, and life’s emotional complexities.

“Baggage” will be available on all streaming platforms February 27, 2026.
